The Artist
Born in El Paso, Texas — Blake takes artistic inspiration from a childhood of exploring the vast desert landscape he grew up in — inspired by the breathtaking views of Texas and New Mexico that he witnessed as a child — he incorporates those visions into his work today. At the age of 9, Blake relocated to Colorado where he currently resides. He attended Colorado State University earning a BFA in graphic design. Following graduation, he worked at Better Homes and Gardens and a multitude of Denver ad agencies — prior to opening his own design agency (Welch Creative Group) in the heart of Downtown Denver in the mid 90s. Blake is a professor and Program Director for the Multimedia Graphic Design department at Front Range Community College (with prior teaching positions at CSU and Regis University).
